I don't have any pictures yet, I'm writing in advance. Tomorrow I'm off to see Lenin my Fulbright colleague and we'll spend a week visiting Eastern France. In many ways, this is the final part of France that I have left to see. Fifteen years filled with study abroad programs, student trips, and personal trips have allowed me to visit an awful lot of this country. I can't tell you how excited I am to be going to:
+++ Struthoff (the only concentration camp that existed in France...I know excited is probably the wrong word to describe how I feel about visiting this place.)
+++Haut-Koenigsbourg (a chateau and fortress)
+++ Strasbourg
+++ Dijon
+++ Dole
+++ what else? we'll see! I don't have to be back to work until November 6. Just think, by that time we'll know who the president is! (I hope!)

ReplyDeleteYou get to see a slice of history many of us Americans only get to read or watch shows on. Please take many pictures, I know I am already very interested. I am just giving you a heads up, there is going to be a hanging chad issue again this year.
