Seriously, Strasbourg doesn't exist (Day 2, pt. 3)

Okay, so I'm almost done with Tuesday. Clearly, I was fascinated by it and it was quite a change from the rest of the France that I know. I've never been to Alsace and Lorraine so I might have gotten a bit camera happy.

By this point in the trip, we'd given up on Strasbourg and decided to head to Colmar. We finished crossing the Vosges mountains and found ourselves in the valley. What was there? Munster (yes, where they make the cheese)! I always thought that was in Germany. Who knew?

The architecture is from both Munster and Colmar since they both seem soooooo German in style. This was really a great area and fun to drive through. We didn't care a bit that we didn't get to Strasbourg, or Haut Koenigsbourg, or anything else we had planned.

  1. Kim-- I am not sure that you will get this comment since I am behind in my reading of the blog. (I know... get on it!) Anyway, I should have given you my grandma's brother's name to find at the cemetery since he is buried in France. (and I couldn't find it when I was there. ) Also, my great grandfather was from Alsace and Lorraine. Small world?!? Kath is going to love hearing about this!

    :) A
