Note Culturelle...

Every day on the way to Yoga, I pass through le Parque Peyrou. In fact, I think I'd been there at least 10 times before I found this plaque on the wall. Who is this guy? Well, he's Jean Moulin and he is considered the Chef de la Résistance française.
Contrary to American belief, there are plenty of stories of the French participating in WWII. Yes, the role of the US was important and the French recognize that, but there were also many, many French people who worked in large and small ways to defend and reclaim France.
Jean Moulin was one of these people. I would say that he has transcended into a symbol of everyone who was involved in the Resistance in the War. His story is very interesting (but for me, as is anything about the War and the French Resistance). He is from this area, born in Béziers, spent time in Montpellier, etc. So, now you know something about (or have been reminded about) one of my favorite French people, Jean Moulin.

Very true that the French did help more then most people know about during WWII. I am glad to hear you found some information on this and that there was a local man that help reclaim France. Great Find!!!
